Lots of food for thought! Thanks for calling attention to the generational plague of childhood neglect. I think it's driven societal breakdown more than any other kind of abuse.

All this
This is like Pen, the protag in my superhero novel. Neglected, abused but guided by a faint memory of being loved once, she tries to rebuild that for herself by grasping at what little she remembers of her mother's religion & morality.
I'd love for you to read it.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

counter point: you don't provide alot of examples for many of your points. you say people are rejecting anti heroes when the joker was able to make a billion dollars attracting special interest from demographics that you say would reject anti heroes like gen z and conservatives
-
My counterpoint to that would be that Joker deals more with being robbed of the things a person craves most and thwarted at every opportunity to fix the attachment issues despite trying. The issue I emphasize is the antihero having the chance but rejecting it.

"the Silent Generation...hoarded every rusty nail and broken pipe because they might never get another one, and when they died, they gave these trash hoards to their confused kids as beloved treasures." Can you elaborate? Is this anecdotal from family or clients?
-
Both. I’ve seen this so many times.

Holy smokes. This article was a software upgrade for my brain -- how I process myself, my recent ancestors, our younger peers, and civilization itself.
