Right. I’m very blessed to live near a birth center staffed by Nurse Midwifes (which is essentially a specialised Nurse Practitioner) and RNs. The hospitals near me, frankly, scare me, and I feel super lucky I have my midwifery as an option. CPMs are definitely not regulated...

...and there are several cases where the baby has severe birth injuries from the subpar care. Plus, I wouldn’t be here without hospitals, as my mom’s labour went south and she needed a caesarean.
