Just finished the #finalfantasy7remake. As a longtime fan of the series and as an author who really started dreaming about storytelling after I played FF7 as a kid, I have to say I’m growing more disappointed with the ending as I think about it and likely won’t be buying the rest

My son played through it and loved it. I enjoyed seeing some of the similar areas as he played through. Considering the original was $50 and the remake starts at $60 I don't find the economics all that daunting. Did the story change or did your appreciation change as storyteller?

The last 10 minutes of the game changed it from being the promised faithful update to very likely an alternate timeline.

They needed a climax for "part 1", so they show horned one in at the last minute. Never played the original. I'm going to wait until it's all out before I consider playing any of it

Nope. But I've seen other people also complain about it

Then I’ll just say this wasn’t a shoehorn.
