I used to believe you had to fluff books up to a certain length for people to be happy. As I’ve grown as a writer, I’ve learned that some stories are naturally shorter and some are longer. Now I tell the full story to its natural conclusion. No cutting corners, but no fluff.

Just where I’ve settled. Some books are short, some are long. I never want to pull a switcheroo and give a short story for a paid novel price, but I want people to be happy with a complete story, not an arbitrary word number.
