One major frustration as a healthcare provider is having clients answer honestly that their drinking level makes them personally uncomfortable and then seeing other providers massively stigmatize them and hold them back from treatment options because of that honest insight.

I don’t even mean lifelong alcoholic drinkers. I mean “I had an acute crisis and briefly drank more than I like as a result so I score 2 out of 4 on the CAGE and now I’m labeled an addict by every provider who sees that record.”
