Batman’s morality is good because it is actually
immoral to intentionally kill another human being if one has not been authorized to do so by legitimate authority.

Batman killing the Joker wouldn’t make him as bad as the Joker. But it would make him morally guilty of murder, which is evil. And what does the Apostle say of those who think it is permissible to do evil so that good might come of it? “Their damnation is just.”

St. Thomas is pretty clear on this. To the point that he will say that I am straight up guilty of murder, no mitigation, if I accidentally kill someone but then take joy in it because they’re my rival and I’m glad I did by accident what I would have done by choice had I known.
