Dominion is a great strategic card game. It's not suitable for kids under say 10 if they're quite bright, maybe 12-13 otherwise, but it's a blast for adults. There are several versions/expansions that take the already highly variable original into new avenues. 10/10 recommend.

Also the X-Wing miniatures game is wonderful. What sold me on it is the clever mechanism it has for allowing all the movement to happen simultaneously (!). Really gets your imagination going like I haven't experienced in a game before.

Once they hit double digits, I highly recommend Agricola. It’s a resource strategy game based on agrarian life. Our family loved this game.https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/31260/agricola …

I used to help watch over a game store so If breaking kids into table top miniature games would wait till least 8 - 12 years old, for GW stuff Necromunda, Mordheim, Blood Bowl an Space Hulk. Less minis to paint but good start to tactics an adapting to the randomness of a d6.

Good advice, thank you.
