So @Kultimore has introduced us to a concept known as WPV (Waifus per Volume). This is a new concept to us.
Does anyone else abide by this metric? What is a proper amount of WPV?

Depends. In a light novel, you should introduce no more than 3 waifus per volume. Anymore and it will be hard to develop them. You can introduce more in manga because it's a purely visual medium.

Of course, this is only for the first volume. It's called the Rule of 1. After volume 1, you should add no more than one waifu per volume. This is to keep your volume from getting congested and give your new waifu time to shine and develop feelings for the dense protagonist

You also do not want to neglect your previous waifus.
