Being 31 and single, having to budget from an unimpressive salary, is an experience that radically transformed my view of marriage. I mean love is all nice and dandy, but give me someone to split bills with.

All the romantic angst about "but I dont vuw himmm!" seems so childish all of a suddne. Like, sure, I get it, but (especially in times of yore), he can give you financial stability. And not that I condone marriage for money, but I understand it a lot more.
