My daughter is 2 and exceptionally good at writing and drawing. Gonna invest in digital art tools and tutors for her. At worst, she has a fun hobby. At best she’s got a professional skill she can leverage at 18 to start a small home business. Parents need to think this way.

A lot of artists I know are creating kickass art with an iPad and procreate rather than a dedicated drawing tablet. I haven't tried it yet because I'm broke and also racist against apples.

iPad Pros are a great option but you're going to spend $1150 for a good sized one plus 256gb HD, plus another hundred for the pen. I've been using Wacom for years, usually intuos line but not the cintiques. They've been doing a lot of forced obsolescence so i don't recommend.

I would personally recommend Huion brand drawing tablets! They're essentially as good in quality as Wacom, but actually affordable. I'm by no means a professional artist myself, but I invested in a Kamvas Pro 13 as a hobby, and it's fantastic.

I wish they'd make a competitor to the ipad, being able to wander around without being tethered to a computer would be awesome!
