Maybe I’m in the minority, but I despise religious first-person writings from Jesus’ perspective. Even when they’re meant to be comforting, they’re deeply uncomfortable because it’s just some person writing it and that sets up for a whole lot of potentially awful things.

I wrote a script once for Easter centered on the men walking to Emmaus...so I had to write dialogue for Jesus. Freaked me out. I basically used as much Scripture as possible to avoid putting words in His mouth.

I had a main character meet Christ in my first novel and felt overwhelmed. So it was done as a Fade To Black because I didn’t feel up to honestly relating what He said to my character.
