Maybe I’m in the minority, but I despise religious first-person writings from Jesus’ perspective. Even when they’re meant to be comforting, they’re deeply uncomfortable because it’s just some person writing it and that sets up for a whole lot of potentially awful things.

There are some chapters in "On The Imitation of Christ" where it's a conversation between Christ and Thomas a Kempis. Much as I love that book, that's a little... awkward.
