Thinking about how this would apply to #pulprev and the "edgy Christian fiction" niche that I'm a part of. My first thought was "That doesn't sound too difficult." 1/n https://twitter.com/dacianwanderer/status/1227300987393589248 …

"Someone who already has a bigger audience like
@BrianNiemeier or@TheBrometheus could buy crucifiction dot net, get a nice logo, call for submissions of self-published works, filter them a bit and offer feedback for ones they don't approve, and then review and promote." 2/n1 reply 0 retweets 6 likesShow this thread -
"Chosen works get to use the 'CRUCIFICTION APPROVED' logo on their covers / promo material. The curators and operators of the site get to promote their own books on the site and related fan pages, use the FB page to run ads, and sell merch like mugs and t-shirts." 3/n

"Seems like everyone wins." So what's wrong with this? (Serious question.) It seems so obvious, there must be a reason that nobody has done it yet. I have ideas, but I want to know what other people think. 4/n

Didn't people already try this with Superversive Press (now defunct) and the website (still going, I think)?

Actually now that you mention it I believe
@rnewquist and@MorgonAuthor are doing something like this, I’m not certain.

Yeah, but again that's an actual small press AFAIK. I'm gonna try my hand at that someday too (even have a name picked out, heh) but this is a little different.

Right, I get what you’re saying. It’s been tried a few times and hasn’t panned out well. Doesn’t mean it can’t, but it takes a lot of knowledge and certain types of personalities to work. And a massive number of hours to coordinate. Someone would have to run it as a startup.

What's the problem? The "If you're not with us, you're against us" school V The "If you're not against us, you're for us" school Pretty sniping. Personal / holier than thou BS. I was part of the Catholic Writers Guild. Happens there too. Adam is best for it, but he's busy.
