I loved every last minute of my at home time with my kids. It seriously stunted my career & I don’t regret it for a second. The idea of working to pay someone else to raise my children, just never made sense to me.https://twitter.com/JulianaStewart_/status/1225369731915505665 …

All I ever wanted was to get married and have babies. Why am I stuck in an office job, with massive student debt and have to work until I'm 65 years old? Who made up these rules??? 😭😭😭😭

Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I simply won't be able to live on a single salary, so we have little choice. If her mother had made good financial decisions, perhaps we could lean on that support as care for our children from within the family, but she did NOT.

It’s always a hard choice. I had brief spurts where I went to work in between kids, but most of the time, I only made enough to pay for daycare w/ very little left over. Seemed pointless. But it has definitely damaged my earning potential now.

There's a lot of misunderstanding here. We sent all our three kids to daycare but that in no way meant we didn't bring them up, where did that idea come from? It wasn't a hard choice at all, kids need to spend a lot of their days with other kids not cooped up with mom.

Statistically, having a stay-at-home parent is better for children. It has better long-term outcomes for the children. I wish that wasn't so, as it's a hard thing to do nowadays, but there it is.

The research on this is plentiful. Look up the longterm mental health risk for children who enter daycare under the age of 4. Plenty of peer-reviewed studies have been conducted. I suggest starting here: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/index.shtml

Sorry but if you don't have any direct links showing a statistical documentation for the claim then it's just a baseless claim.

. . . Oh. You just don't like the idea so you're not going to read the data? Got it. Can you provide any evidence that going to daycare is a better option?
