My wife and I never baby talk to our kids. We use full sentences and a wide vocabulary including complex words. My son is 3 and can carry a full conversation. Adults at family gatherings are shocked at his social aptitude. My daughter isn’t even 2 and she uses 4-syllable words.

Part of the purpose of public school is the “rapacious teachers and poisonous families”. They exist after high school too, it’s good to get exposure and training. Isolation is sheltering.

Are you out of your mind? Kids can-and will- learn life is hard. Let them do it with parents who love them. Instead of the State.

I wish I could get all home schoolers together in a forum to explain just how fucked up your students are when college is their first “school” experience. It’s one of the most painful things I witness year to year. It’s awful.

I lived it. Entirely unable to handle things like making and losing friends, dating, etc when first encountering them at age 19. I’m twice that age now and I think I’ve got things figured out, but it was really horrible

“Rapacious teachers” is very funny given how homeschooling is used to hide family abuse

I’ve never met a teacher like that. If wanting an actual living wage makes me a “rapacious teacher,” I’m not even sorry. Excuse me for wanting to provide for my own family. Speaking of families, you might be surprised to learn most are doing their best and are far from poisonous.

Yep. Y'all are not paid nearly enough for what you deal with, not to mention the fact that you are actually educating our kids and generally doing it with creativity and joy. And if you happen to teach middle school? Well...you should probably also get hazard pay.
