You can't blend r/K selection methods, they're mutually exclusive. In times of shift between one being dominant versus the other, hybrids pop up, some of this and some of that. Those hybrids can only compete till the shift is complete. We're in the start of a shift right now.

Oh yea. It's slow for now, because "the left" started it unintentionally. r-selection is dominant during resource abundance, K-selection during scarcity. "The left" keeps cutting "the right" off from resources, but then we just adapt. When debt bubbles pop? Big acceleration.
