I’ve been putting off the next scene in my current book because it felt too intimidating and complex. I’ve dragged my feet for a week researching how to get it right. Today I realized I’d forgotten some basics. Whole scene clicked. When you feel overwhelmed, go back to basics.
Gonna vary based on your situation. For me it was “What’s the actual core of this scene?” I was getting too fancy into spectacle and losing the core.
