I’ve seen it with a LOT of the social trends we’re seeing now. Weight, hair styles, political beliefs... Deny that femininity to keep yourself unappealing and safe. Sets in deep as a kid.

Some wanna be obese to not attract men. Some wanna emotional eat because its comforting.Chocolate. Some starve themselves out of their own perceived shame & abuse their body. Instead of cutting as an inward act, they attack their organism in other ways. Then, some find peace.

I have professional backgrounds in mental health & obesity separately. Most people don’t realize how frequently they are correlated. Sadly many morbidly obese individuals were abused & often sexually. Amongst other things their weight can serve as a psychological protective layer
