Men are made with an innate craving to build a legacy. Sleeping with a parade of 300 damaged young women who cry themselves to sleep after you roll over is not a legacy.

I know these bros who post those things want to make me envy--I don't have much money, can't travel much (yet), and I'm not sleeping with dozens of models. But I pity them. They live meaningless lives and my children's children will walk the dust of their "empires."

This is precisely the right mindset. Think 200 years down the line.

And the thing is... I got started late. I didn't excel in my 20s. I let laziness and low expectations hold me back. But I can change that and am changing that. But greatness isn't made of ski trips and boat rides. Greatness is made in independence and impact on the world.

I can teach my kids to be able to care for themselves and those around them, and teach them to do and be influential on their own families and communities. And yeah, they'll have adventures. But what's the point of an adventure that isn't also a mission?

My motto is plan for the future while living each day like it’s your last. When I say live each day like it’s your last I don’t mean party hard. I mean make that day a quality day.
