My married family does a full Thanksgiving dinner on Christmas and Easter. It’s weird to get used to but then suddenly you feel like an emperor. “I get three Thanksgivings a year. Gape in awe, peasants. Pass the fig-stuffed peacock beaks.”

Turkey is a dry, tasteless bird that can barely be redeemed with elaborate tricks that are better reserved for worthy meats. That being said, I share this same, fortunate situation in my family. For this, I am thankful. Merry Christmas.

For the record, I annually do a lamb at Easter (I'll give you one guess why), and rotate a variety of delicious slabs of meat for Thanksgiving and Christmas. 10 lb slow cooked pork shoulder hear we come!
