I get a lot of questions about the Pope. Catholics should not criticize any Pope in public. If God wants one removed, God will strike him down. All men’s reigns are temporary. We obey the throne, not the man currently slouched upon it, because it belongs to another whom we trust.

We rely upon our Bishops to press back against any overreaches. The Pope is not the emperor of the world, and he does not live in a perfect echo chamber. Each Bishop has power over his diocese and makes decisions to stay in communion with Rome (or not). We trust our Bishops.

The only person who can call a Pope evil or disregard his entire teaching is the next Pope. And Catholics maintain faith that truth will always win out and even evil deeds will glorify God as the truth of His commandments are displayed through the consequences of disobedience.

People can always ask me whatever they like about my faith. But you’ll hear no condemnation of the Pope from me. My duty is to rule over my household and obey my Bishop and, by extension, my Priest.
