Also...what is your religious background? I want to see Christians making good art too, but trying to discuss that gets as little traction as you seem to be getting here.

Zero reservations. My goal is to provide intensely masculine and virtuous heroes as role models for living courageously instead of cringingly. I’ve already got multiple parents emailing me saying their teen has read my first book from cover to cover multiple times.

They’d emit preachy. It’s fiction for Christians and so doesn’t preach or try to convert the audience. The setting begins with the assumption that all of Christian theology is true. Asks what happens in a demonic nuclear apocalypse that isn’t the actual apocalypse yet.

I wanted to create a world where I could tell Conan the Barbarian stories in a Christian worldview, in a society where violence is necessary to survive. The books explore what it means to be a man of God divorced from postmodern concepts of civility, as in the Old Testament.

So to answer your questions: They’re Christian because the setting assumes Christianity is absolutely true. They do also explore themes, like does an AI Android have a soul. And I have zero reservations because Christians are starving to see unflinching heroes of faith.

Aha, it occurs to me that I wrote extensively on the topic of Christian fiction right here:https://adamlanesmith.com/2019/08/24/the-deus-vult-wastelanders-project/ …
