It’s really amazing because when you are interested in Catholicism and go through RCIA, you’re invited to attend Mass and get to know people. Everyone is super friendly. And the Church wants to make sure you literally know everything before joining.

Everyone gets a sponsor once they’ve decided to go ahead and join. And some people like me had to get baptized. Even though I was baptized at age 8, the Church requires a baptism to be done in the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit. So I also got to pick Godparents

My Godfather is probably only 20 years older than me. But he’s a really wonderful guy. Good husband and father. Wonderful family. It can be anyone in the church that you feel will help you in your spiritual journey.

Catholic is universal. So all churches would do this yes. It’s nice to have a uniform church that if I’m vacationing in Europe and go into a Catholic Church I know what’s going on because they are the same.

Wow that’s so neat. I grew up in a free Methodist church & my maternal grandpa never connected to God through it. He eventually found his way into Catholicism & is now an active member of the church. A changed man. I’ve been blessed to witness it. But I’ve still been ignorant.

That’s alright dear. Catholicism is a very old religion and because it’s been around for 1000s of years there’s a lot of information and tradition dating back to the very first churches established by the apostles. My conversion was a giant history lesson and still on going

Hmm. Maybe I’ll look more into it. I’ve been church hopping here by myself lately cuz I haven’t felt like I have found a home. & as someone who doesn’t have family... I could really use one

That’s how I felt before I came home to the Church.
