one has to wonder why christian fictional media (like movies/TV/books) tends to be absolutely terrible no matter which denomination produces it

It does feel like any fiction that is *explicitly* Christian tends to be worse than fiction that has Christian themes in it.

But that's the thing, we *know* there can be good religious fiction; the problem is this culture of mediocrity that has basically spread across Christian culture that ends up just shipping out whatever out the door.

Yeah, it's a bit strange. Not sure exactly what the problem is. Maybe it's because a lot of explicitly Christian films tend to be made by propaganda ministries, basically? Not quite sure.

They start with a goal of converting new believers who would never consume the Christian media in the first place. Christian media producers don’t even know their actual audience.
