This usually goes away for men when they feel like they’ve got some control, a mission in life and the means to accomplish it. When that gets threatened, depression starts, and as they lose hope of ever regaining control, suicidal ideation begins to creep in harder and harder.

Very true. The unfortunate side I see, is that there appears to be a war on the construct of being a man (we all know where that's coming from) and this extends to having a mission. Man or woman, it matters not, when you take away purpose, what do you have left?

Your purpose can only be surrendered, not taken. Why would any man do that?

Correct, you are. Those that do and allow it are being manipulated into doing so. All this non-sense about "Bros", "Toxic Masculinity", "Mansplaining" (and that's just the start of it) etc. It's all BS. But it certainly is compounding the issue.

That’s correct. And men allow it.
