This passage only really makes sense with 1 Maccabees which your Bible likely won’t have.
So it’s complicated. Original Christians accepted them from the very beginning until Martin Luther who decided he knew better and out then in an appendix as questionable. Later revisions removed them completely.

But Maccabees alone is fascinating. Judith is exceptionally good. Tobit is fun.

This is why I've taken it apon myself to study books that were accepted by the early 1st century Christian's. Books that even the Catholics tossed out but were common in early home churches.
