As a working psychotherapist, the stories I hear from numerous clients of past therapeutic negligence or outright abuse are infuriating. I’ve set up multiple reports to licensing boards for blatant violation of patient trust. Avoiding the dangerous lunatics requires knowledge.

Part of the issue is places like California churning out therapists in the thousands each year and dumping them into a market with no adequate oversight so they settle for licensure supervision/apprenticeship in group trainings with little personal impact. Then they’re launched.

You’re arming people to play God in the minds of the trusting, uneducated masses and many just aren’t trained or prepared because it’s now a BUSINESS TO PRODUCE THERAPISTS. They’re churned out as fast as the colleges can go. Then they try to scrape out territory with human lives
