As a working psychotherapist, the stories I hear from numerous clients of past therapeutic negligence or outright abuse are infuriating. I’ve set up multiple reports to licensing boards for blatant violation of patient trust. Avoiding the dangerous lunatics requires knowledge.

I also took a fat pay cut to serve this population because it’s necessary work with a waitlist a mile long, so perhaps I’m not a useful data point.

Depends how much authority the legal environment (and the client) allow to the therapist. I will say our professional magazines publish a list of blacklisted clinicians in every volume and I have never seen them run out of names. The pages upon pages of violations are horrific.
