Nope. I'm convinced that the "stay informed" argument is an attempt to control you and keep you plugged in. Or it's someone justifying their inability to step away from the toxic news cycle. This shit in America is all hype. Sensationalism. They don't even inform anymore.https://twitter.com/remembermusa/status/1186987924782489600 …

Doesn't your logic end in public apathy, low voter turnout, and then control by fringe groups of highly motivated, single issue voters?

Right. I don't like the current system. I especially don't like thw idw2a of promoting an idea that exacerbates the worst parts of the current system.

The heck of it is, his suggestion is already coming about as people burn out their receptors on constant outrage and terror. People are tuning out and not caring at an exponential rate. We aren’t made to have pure cortisol for blood.

There has to be a middle ground between tuning out, being uninformed and easily controled / not voting and being a rage political junky. Because american apathy allows endless wars, tax dodging, graft, shitty infrastructure/schools/healthcare. All of which hurt the poor.

The middle ground requires massive overhaul of the current media to return to information distribution instead of propaganda.
