I don't think it would work as well as you surmise. Perhaps it would, but I think men would rather be cuddled or receive real affection from someone that actually cared about them as opposed to having to pay for it.

That’s true, yes. But for those too intimidated by women to seek out a relationship, too insecure to believe they’re worthy of love, or don’t know where to begin looking and have no one to help?

Possibly. I'm not sure paying someone for artificial affection is actually going to help someone in that situation. I'm just speculating here, of course. I don't have a background in psychology or sociology or anything that would qualify my opinion.
