“What exactly is anxiety?” I get this question a lot. Clinical anxiety means running damage control in advance for issues which may or may not be a problem, to the point where your sleep, concentration, mood, relationships, job functioning, and/or daily living are disrupted.

Common symptoms include excessive worrying (what-if questions), frequent rumination, racing thoughts, sweaty palms, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, racing heart, shortness of breath, muscle tension or knots, eye twitches or muscle spasms, difficulty concentrating, and fidgeting.

A huge number of people with attachment issues from childhood or with traumatic childhoods think their anxiety symptoms are completely normal behavior and can never be fixed. See a professional to be assessed.
