Step 2: Select your Writing Weapons In fact, the most productive writing I've had recently has been on loose-leaf paper (tbt my elementary/middle-school days, Mum you know the ones) [𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃: 𝙋𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧] Oh help.

Step 3: Get the Tools - A blank notebook dedicated to brainstorming/world-building notes/etc. "The Thought Catcher." - PACKETS of college ruled paper (story writing, plot outlines, chapter details, etc. The Meat of the story) - A binder to build my book in

Get the Tools cont. - - pens galore - post-its and color tabs (organize the chaos) And some Treat Yoself items: Noise canceling earbuds, new mp3 player (avoid the internet!) and a cross-body bag to put the tools in. It's a portable writer's workshop!!

[a quick aside to explain the hand-written route: It's always helped me to see/feel the fruits of my labor when it comes to writing. If I can "build my book" in a binder and see the pages stack up, it'll be more motivating than any online word counter. I love the tangible.]

I am enormously pleased that your mum recommended my work. She is now my favorite writer mother.
If I may humbly suggest, you may also find this article useful, as it’s an issue I myself battled for years:https://adamlanesmith.com/2019/08/03/crushing-perfectionism-for-authors/ …
