4 day weeks ARE awesome, if you can afford them. But at scale it creates huge problems for an employer. A 32 hr week isn’t the horrible-est idea I’ve ever heard. 60hr/wks would save employers lots of cash, too, and I sure don’t advocate that. But reducing hours introduces risks and expenses that must be addressed.

There’s a nice balance that isn’t really necessary with removing corporate protections and cultivating a return to family-owned shops which would solve many other social issues, but that’s a massive overhaul for another day...
