At Mass today an older gentleman next to me said “Oh God...” when he had to genuflect for the first time. He only managed one knee and by holding onto a chair but... I felt that.

I've had elderly people apologize to me for moving slowly. "You take all the time you need, I'm not in a hurry." This person is most likely someone's grandfather/father or grandmother/mother. We will all be there some day if we are lucky enough to live that long. Be Kind!

I look at this this way. I would rather see anyone using a walker, crutches, or cane over a motorized scooter. At least the person is getting more exercise than in a motororized scooter. I also think motorized skateboards are cheating.

Unfortunately not enough people care. They're too wrapped up in theirselves and their own checklists. The elderly are a godt to be cherished. So much wisdom leaves this world everyday when one passes. Everyone should take the time to learn from them.

There are times I have to use one, or a store cart because of a 7+ pain. My service dog also alerts to me pushing too far pain wise, and will force me to sit.

So, it’s not only the elderly. I’ve seen people lose their patience with those in pain, or facing other problems, be treated as if they’re faking, or they are objects in the way. Canes kicked, chairs moved, service dog handlers heckled and cursed.
