Group storytelling has been with us for as long as we’ve been a species. But now the fiction has become “real life.” The daily grind is just to return to that fake world as one’s life withers and passes, and they viciously attack people in the group and community for differences.
This is why I’ve largely quit tabletop gaming. It’s become a religion with sacred rules and (currently) acts as a magnet for the worst examples of humanity who use games to act out their frustrated fantasies and police others. I don’t intend to write for such a community.

I don’t support addiction, nor do I support cancerous growths which absorb every drop of energy and leech the life from hosts. Gaming and the gaming community have become both.
