Took my son to a fair with a bouncy house. Little boys jumped around inside. The outside was ringed with women clustered at the windows, shrieking at the boys if they even came close to physical contact. They dragged boys out, scolding and shouting. Not a father in sight. Thread

The same goes for kids* I’d reckon. No child does well out of helicopter parenting, and the first thing they do when they fall or take a hit is look for mom and/or dad - if theyre screaming wildly and running to swoop them up as if they almost died that’s no good for anyone.

Kids get bumps and bruises. They smack each other. My uncle accidentally caused my tooth embedding into my lip while it was still in my gums once. (We are the same age ftr.) Did I stop playing with him or in a rickety box with wheels? Nah - who needs teeth anyway?

Well said. Boys needs to know how to have an outlet for these urges rather then being told it it bad to have them
