@TheBrometheus This fall semester I’m teaching a Freshman Comp class for the second time as part of my graduate assistantship. As a published fiction and nonfiction author, do you have any professional tips for my students an academic writing background wouldn’t cover?

A billion things. The best of all is to see your draft through to the end and not edit at all until it’s complete. Finish the work. Then edit 3 passes before hiring a professional. Trust the process. Do not paralyze yourself with ongoing edits. Finish first.

Thank you! That’s advice I didn’t know I needed myself! I know you’ve got a million things but I know I’m not the only one who would love thread of tips whenever you have time.

Excellent! That will be a great help. I want to give my students something beyond just technical writing skills and advice.
