It wouldn’t bother you if one day your family members each told you they believed you had no honor and were a dishonest liar? If the pastor of your church said you weren’t welcome anymore?

I refer mostly to a very small number of family/friends whose opinions differ in terms of what’s considered a worthy pursuit in life, be it entrepreneurship vs working for someone else, whom to date, etc etc. Nothing unethical or immoral at all, only differences of opinion.

Then that’s your tribe. So of course their opinion of you matters. But don’t equate concern about their opinion of you with collapsing utterly into slavery to their opinion. Nonexistent boundaries are also an issue and no healthy tribe will want a man with no personal strength.
