“A real man doesn’t care what people think of him.” False. A real man stands for his principles regardless of pressure to abandon them. But in a society where principles are no longer taught, we default to this idea of real men being divorced from all opinions. No honor code.

You have more choices than “Care what no one thinks” or “Care what everyone thinks.” This was hammered home tonight for me while reading a book about fashion, of all things.

Huge mind shift for most men. IT’S OKAY TO BE CONCERNED WITH WHAT YOUR TRIBE THINKS OF YOU. And you can still resist what those outside your tribe think of you. In fact, this balance is healthy when your tribe is built on shared principles outsiders won’t share.
