“Why hasn’t there been another Great American Novel?” Because novel writing was dragged into universities and artsy circles where it’s become an expression of feelings instead of a personal craft. Schools stifle creativity to churn out literary snobs who produce formulaic dreck.

I'm not sure there hasn't. I certainly don't expect academia to recognize it when they see it.

As a licensed shrink, Brometheus is at minimum academia adjacent. It would explain his disdain for the Great American Burrito Vengeance Saga.
