Hemming yourself can work for the legs. Are you a legit 34 or is that just a closest fit? As someone who cycles between label-size 40-42 but is more accurately about 39-41, it is /amazing/ the fit difference that being the proper waist makes.

I honestly don’t know, that’s just the size at Walmart that’s always fit.

A lot of stores will hem trousers for free when you buy them. I bought two pairs of Levi’s in the New Years Sale and got them both brought up to fit the shorter “English” style.

Just adjusting the leg length is pretty standard thing and also here it is fairly cheap. Some clothes are especially made with that in mind and have longer legs so it fits tall people but shorter ppl can get it adjusted. You can also adjust the waist.

I have zero idea how you get that done in the US tho. But here some of the shops have their own service, so etimes included in the price. I also would have thought your darling wife would know more on this.
