That is how it feels as a customer when businesses identify in such a way, tbh. Race, sex, sexuality, etc. Basically a big sign saying anyone else isn’t appreciated on the property and better get their product and get out cause we aren’t here to chat. Don’t alienate spenders.

I hate to say it but I agree. I avoid black owned or woman owned because I feel like I'm not a welcome customer there. I'm glad they feel pride in it, but idk.

It’s really just a signal to people who obsess over that sort of identity politicking. That’s not my deal, so I’m doubly turned off.

That and I assume their products are marketed towards black only or women only. With that said, veteran owned kinda irritates me too. It's a marketing gimmick. Why does you being a veteran make your product better?

That one I get because it’s a voluntary identity one can choose to pick up through service, and a ton of people see that label and flock to it. I’ve got enough family members who came out of the service and struggled to find real work, I’m happy to support a place they can go.

They see that cause that's what they want to see
