There’s no standard or golden rule to relationships. When it comes to love all logic & rationale go out the window. To buy into accepted social norms is such a limiting perspective. Everyone’s experience is different.

At 18, my mom snuck out w/girlfriends to an east TX backwoods shanty bar where she met my dad (on leave from the Army). They married 2wks later. 46yrs. Everyone but my G-Grandparents said it wouldn't last. Mom passed 13yrs after dad, she never stopped missing him.

If you want to play the dating game then that’s what you do...you just play around for years. The most successful marriages I’ve seen people established goals, healthy boundaries, expectations, and the lines of open communication right away.

That type of mindset and early exchange of needs and communication quickly facilitates lasting marriages.
