Oh well that's good. :) yeah, it was the church at my home town and a lot of people there do not have much of a sense of humor. What I still dont understand is why I got in trouble for taking communion when I take communion at my church.

It’s a very specific thing for Catholics and they make sure you’re thoroughly educated in the beliefs and share the same beliefs. We teach the communion host is the literary body of Christ, so a person should understand every part of that covenant before they partake.

Some priests might just remind you not to do it while others may become angry, if they see what you did as disrespecting the literal body of Christ.

It’s also because of our long history of persecution. Before you become a full member and partake of communion you must understand and agree to all the conditions, like possible martyrdom. They don’t want anyone to be unprepared.

All of that said, if you didn’t understand it’s pretty awful for a priest to be angry with you. I had a similar experience with an angry priest who drove me away from the church when I investigated the first time.

Interesting. Well should I ever find myself at another catholic church, tho I will not be catholic, should I just not participate in anything? Would that be best? Because it confuses me as I believe in God and Jesus being the savior...and I understand the purpose of communion.

Best thing is to go up with the communion line and just cross your arms over your chest instead. They know that means you aren’t ready to receive catholic communion and they’ll bless you instead.
