There are so many ways that sentence can be taken. Is it Comical? What's the Writers background? What is the Characters background? Who is it Intended for? Why is the Character taking the time to react, add Exposition? How will it affect the larger Story? Audience?

When I’m having trouble, I write dialog in the dark while acting it out. I only feel uncomfortable when someone (inevitably) interrupts me by walking in.
