I find it funny when people imply I'm doing evangelism wrong because they expect me to gently take someone from complete non believer to on the spot conversion, in one sitting, with some sort of amazing argument.pic.twitter.com/f98lY1smZL

That isn't how it worked for me, or for anyone else I know, either. The only times I've ever heard of anything like that happening, it involved a saint and it's considered to be a miraculous event. I'm very far from being a saint, so that ain't happening with me.pic.twitter.com/epVyiY10Ug
Typically, the process of bringing someone to God is the cumulative total of dozens of people, all channelling the Holy Spirit, in the right place, at the right time, until the person is ready to have this moment of taking all of this and putting it together in their head.pic.twitter.com/QFG9eaL8Bm
I mean, even that old media trope of someone having a light come on above their head when they realise something, didn't come out of thin air. That was just a modern version of the icons where the light of the holy spirit suddenly comes upon someone in a moment of revelation.
Oh, to me it was just so obvious once I learned about icons. Admittedly, my Parish really likes using icons and holy artwork in the church newsletters.
Makes sense. I always just connected it with Looney Tunes.
Oddly I had the first inkling of the connection through old Yoga books that talked about auras and stuff.
