Other people: “I sure do miss all the cartoons and fun and not paying bills!” Me: “I sure don’t miss having my head slammed against the wall, being threatened with punishment for being diagnosed as severely depressed, and being told I’d grow up to be a rapist because I’m a boy.”https://twitter.com/BeigeShiba/status/1142373007521804288 …

I'm just glad I'm at the point where I can debate which is worse: messy divorce at 6, forced to pleasure the son of one of my dad's many g/fs, having to live by myself at 11 for half a year, or dealing with the sudden disappearance of 10+ women I thought would each be a new mom.

Parents like that make you wonder what the point would be in finding enemies.

Eh... they were sick in the head. I have been able to see that now for decades. I even understand somewhat how it happened. I've forgiven them. My boys will never have to go through what I did. And that one boy who violated me is now living as a recluse, all alone, far away.

The truth is that people who commit such deeds pay for them every moment of their life, and in fact they do such things to distract themselves from the anguish of their own past choices.

Truth. Dad is still an alcoholic who has found salvation in his endless phone surfing. Mom's self-confessed greatest achievement is that she was able to retire to Arizona. Needless to say, my kids aren't exposed to them on a regular basis.

The fruits of sin are bitter indeed, but even wicked people can serve as lessons.

I still pray for them. They are my parents after all. And perhaps they will find their way back to God so they will go to heaven when they pass on.
