Had a conference call with my 11yo nephew this evening. He wants to be a chef. We laid out a clear 10-year plan for him to follow regarding schooling, chef speciality, and a step-by-step method to achieve his goal. Men, when was the last time you mentored a kid in your family?

While his peers will be picking their noses and smoking pot, my nephew has a clear plan to be running a kitchen himself in his early 20s and own his own restaurant by age 30. He’s already working this summer to save for his chef’s knives and new cooking tools. At 11 years old.

When was the last time you took an interest in your younger family members? What if someone had taken an interest in you? How much farther along would you be right now? Get in there and be that change for someone else. Grab a kid in your family and show a keen interest.
