Many new fathers, some of the best in the world, feel tremendous pressure and guilt if they don’t bond with their child immediately upon birth. Men bond by teaching and being taught. When your child is old enough to learn from you, that bond will form. Be present when it comes.

Every single media source out there, fiction and non-fiction, is telling men they should feel equally connected to their baby as the mom does from the moment of birth. If these men didn’t have fathers themselves, how will they know what’s true? So they panic.
