Many new fathers, some of the best in the world, feel tremendous pressure and guilt if they don’t bond with their child immediately upon birth. Men bond by teaching and being taught. When your child is old enough to learn from you, that bond will form. Be present when it comes.

That happened to me with all my granddaughters too. The boys took to me but the girls took a while to appreciate their grandpa.

We do bond rapidly, but not in the same way that mothers do. I definitely enjoyed my children when they could talk.

MiniBadger was probably three or four months old before I felt the slightest hint of a bond. It was a pretty rough couple of months.
